   - What is the deadline for registration?

Registration will close at 11:59 pm Pacific on August 11th, 2024. 

   - Is there an early bird registration discount?

Early Bird discounts ran from Feb 19th - March 29th, 2024. The Early bird discount program offered 15% off tickets.

   - What payment methods are accepted?

We accept all major credit and debit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.

   - Can I register on-site? -

 Unfortunately no. To ensure the safety of our attendees, we will not be able to offer On-site registration. Please register to attend in person by Aug 9th, 2024.

Suppose you are unable to attend in person. You can sign up to receive notifications from Sister Song to inform you when LTAS 2024 virtual tickets go on sale this summer.

   - Where will the conference take place?

LTAS 2024 will take place at the WASHINGTON HILTON, 1919 Connecticut Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20009, USA. We encourage you to book your hotel room(s) as soon as possible, taking advantage of our group rate of $189.00 a night before taxes and fees  HERE. The LTAS Group Rate of $189.00 before taxes and fees is available until August 1st, 2024.

Check-out at the hotel is at 4 pm Eastern and 11 am Eastern. Baggage check-in is available for early arrivals.
 

   - What are the nearest airports/train stations?

Traveling to the hotel from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport: Taxi fare varies from $25-$50. We suggest using the Uber or Lyft app or getting a taxi.
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Code is DCA. This airport is 6 miles away.

Traveling to the hotel from Washington Dulles International Airport: The taxi fare varies from $60 to $70. We suggest using the Uber or Lyft app or getting a taxi.
Washington Dulles International Airport Code is IAD. This airport is 27  miles away.

Traveling to the hotel from Washington, DC Union Station Amtrak: The taxi fare varies from $25 to $30. We suggest using the Uber or Lyft app or getting a taxi. Union Station is 2.9 miles away.

   - Is there parking available at the venue?

Self-parking is available at $56.00 per day for 24 hours from the time you park your car. Tax is included in the price.

   - Are there any special rates for conference attendees at nearby hotels?

Scholarships and Volunteering

What do I need to know about requesting a scholarship to attend  LTAS 2024?  

Sister Song is committed to making LTAS accessible to as many people as possible. For LTAS 2024, we are offering scholarships to prospective attendees who can also commit to Volunteering during the conference. 

All attendees including scholarship recipients are Required to Register to Attend LTAS 2024.  All prospective Scholarship seekers, should First complete the scholarship application and wait to be informed they have received a scholarship award before purchasing a LTAS 2024 registration.  Sister Song has a No Refund registration policy for LTAS.

• Sister Song is offering a limited number of lodging and transportation scholarships in 2024. Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis,  with priority given to those who meet our criteria and apply early (Priority Deadline: May 17th 2024 at 11:59 pm PDT.)
  
  
• Lodging scholarships will provide a double occupancy room type (2 queen-size beds) and in some cases a single occupancy room type (1 king size bed). Scholarship recipients will NOT be required to share a room. Hotel room types are based on available hotel stock. If you are assigned a double occupancy room, we encourage you to consider this as a resource as you plan for you and possibly your group to attend LTAS 2024.
  
  
• Transportation Scholarships will cover round trip airfare or train fare. If traveling by flight or train, you will have access to round trip shuttle service from the airport or train station to the conference hotel. Each scholarship recipient is responsible for their round trip ground transportation from their place of origin to the airport or train station.  Sister Song is unable to reimburse participants for incidentals while traveling to LTAS 2024. 
                              
• By accepting a scholarship (Lodging, Transportation or both) for LTAS 2024, you are agreeing to also serve as a volunteer. Volunteers will serve a minimum 10 hours over the course of the conference Aug 22nd-25th. More information regarding volunteer roles, responsibilities, shift assignments and orientation, will be shared with selected scholarship recipients.
  
  
• By accepting a scholarship (Lodging, Transportation or both) for LTAS 2024, you are agreeing to complete Lodging & Transportation booking forms in a timely manner according to deadlines set forth by Sister Song. Additionally, You will need to provide your name and gender as listed on your local state ID . Timely completion of booking forms supports the Sister Song staff in booking travel itineraries that support the sustainability of the Scholarship Program; Help us keep the cost affordable for everyone.

Presentation and Submission

What do I need to know about submitting an application to be a presenter  LTAS 2024? 

‍

The Proposal Submission application will close on May 17th 2024 at 11:59 pm PST.  Selected Presenters will be notified by May 24th 2024. 

‍

For 2024, we are welcoming in-person proposals for engaging 90-minute breakout sessions. Each breakout session should plan for no more than Two presenters and be designed for an audience ranging from 30 to 75 attendees. Sessions will take place August 23rd & 24th. 

‍

We are excited to announce that for 2024, we are also allowing video submissions. Video submissions should be 5 minutes or less. For applicants submitting video, please note you are still required to provide the short and long descriptions (150 words and 350 words respectively).

The Sister Song staff will host  the LTAS 2024 Proposal Submission Open House - FAQ session on Friday April 19th 2024!

Proposal Submission Guidelines for LTAS 2024:

• All selected Presenters & Co-presenters are Required to Register to Attend LTAS 2024.  All prospective presenters should First complete the proposal submission application and wait to be informed that their session has been selected before purchasing a LTAS 2024 registration.  Sister Song has a No Refund registration policy for LTAS. • For LTAS 2024, All selected Presenters are responsible for covering their own travel and lodging expenses. We encourage prospective presenters, to inquire with their organizations, groups, funders, to explore ways underwrite their expenses to present at LTAS 2024. 
  
  
• Selected sessions will receive a $250.00 honorarium. This honorarium is per session NOT per session presenter. All selected presenters will be required to submit an invoice & W9 to Sister Song in order to receive the honorarium.
  
  

LTAS 2024 Theme: “ A Movement United Will Never Be Defeated” - Welcome to Reproductive Justice University

This year, we aim to not have traditional workshops but to create levels designed to support attendees at varying entry points to the movement. Whether this is your first conference, or you’re looking to learn new skills, or if you are a seasoned leader, or if you just want to think outside of the box - there is a level for you. 

We are looking for a variety of “classes” to showcase at each level with a focus on the following: youth organizing, faith & Spirituality, policy, sexual health, freedom & pleasure, LGBTQ liberation, disability justice, global work, intersectional organizing, research & healing justice 

This year we are seeking submissions that: 

• Seek to shift the culture 
• That are interactive and multi-dimensional 
• That move people to action 
• That foster healing 
• That are engaging for people who may not be in movement yet 
• That are innovative and forward thinking 
• That help build the connections between Reproductive Justice and other movements 

We are encouraging potential presenters to be co-creators with us. To think outside of the box and to help us shift the culture of conferences. We want to break beyond movement jargon and business as usual and make this conference a space where transformation happens. Where new ideas are birthed. Where healing takes place.  Where people recommit / commit to making Reproductive Justice their movement home. Because A Movement United will never be defeated.

Sessions will be curated in the following "Course" Levels:

Prerequisites - these are curated spaces that will serve as pre-conference institutes on the day before the conference begins. Space is limited to major sponsors and at the discretion of SisterSong’s leadership.

Intros - These are sessions crafted with a new audience or new organizers in mind. It’s all about helping attendees understand issues at a beginner level and allowing them an opportunity to build a solid foundation for their organizing. 

Intermediate - These are sessions that aim to dig deeper into topics. These sessions get a little more nuanced and pushes attendees to stretch and build new organizing muscle.

Advanced - These are sessions where the seasoned leaders meet. These sessions engage in high level thinking, organizing, and strategizing. 

Electives - These are sessions that are not about talking alone. These are sessions where bodies move. Where art is created. Where creativity is centered. Think twerking for liberation.

New School - These are sessions that seek to push our thinking on our issues. This is where one can work out new ideas or theories. And just in case there are some who may not see themselves reflected in a University setting - this is a space for you to create a session to find your people.
